Thirty years. That's how long it's been since Sora, the chosen of the light, saved the worlds from being swallowed by an all encompassing darkness. Thirty years since that final war was fought, on the sacred ground of Kingdom Hearts, to determine the fate of all.
In those three decades, many a thing has changed.
The as a result of the final battle the barriers that seperated the Worlds have been smashed permatly. This has resulted in an upsurge in trade and the development of new cities.
Sora, along with his best friend Riku and his wife Kairi opened an new school for those chosen as keyblade wielders about ten years following his victory. This place of learning has become known as the "Keyblade Academy" and it has has spent the last twenty years housing new generations of keyblade wielders.
But even amongst som much light there still lurks darkness.
The great King Micky died about four years ago and although the official report states that it was due to natural causes, many suspect foul play. His death left a power vacuum among the vibrant kingdoms court. Tybalt the youngest son of the king has laid claim to the throne and with the backing of the Royal Guards is in good position to take it by force. He is opposed however by his older brother Gaius, favorite of the king, beloved by the people and head of the Court Mages. For four years civil war had been averted by their mother, Queen Minnie. But now the queen has fallen ill and it seems that she is not long for this world. Upon her death, a successor must be crowned and no matter who is there will be war.
But despite this troubling event which threatens to disrupt the peace that took so long to build, something much more dangerous lurks in the growing darkness. Osar, one of the first to join Soras' new academy and held by many of his piers to be the one who would replace the aging keyblade master disappeared several years ago along with nine other skilled students. Many believe them to be dead but others believe that they're disappearance is only part of something much more sinister. Even more disturbing is the new organization of keyblade wielders calling themselves the Order of the Twilight. No one knows who they are or what their goal is, however one thing is known. Their appearance aims to change everything.
Times are bleak and war lies just beyond the horizon. On who's side will you fight.
